Joaquim wearing Mitchell's hat.
After breakfast Ed, Teresa, Joaquim and Mitchell went to Torreira. On returning Ed ran into two cousins he had been trying to catch up with and one of his friends mum. He was happy to catch up with them.
Ed and Jorge went to pick up part of our lunch for today - suckling pig. Sorry I took photos on my camera as Ed's phone is full. He is going to have to save pics on a usb.
Jorge was cutting it up and said to try the tongue. It was okay, firm in texture but nice tasting.
Lunch was bread, salad, chips, rice and pork. The skin crisp and the meat tender.
Great food and lots of interesting conversation!
We had some melon for dessert - we were all full to the brim.
Ana suggests a walk out the back to the beach so we all change our shoes and grab some hats.
The bush has overgrown in parts so walking is interesting - we are city slickers, not use to getting prickles in our socks.
Joaquim talks about old times, sharing stories about the beach.
We enjoy the sun and the sand and relax for a while.
We head to Furadoura for a coffee and a walk along the esplanade. There are heaps of people with the same idea as us.
On getting back Ed calls our friends in Fatima to organise some lunch and breakfast dates. I try Paul and this time get a german sounding message.
It is time for dinner, more pork, salad etc....We will look like porky pig by the time we get home.
Bye for now.

It's really odd seeing you guys at the beach - it's finally started to get cold here in Sydney 15/16 during the day and below 10 at night. If you're lucky, it will probably begin to get warmer again before you return!
ReplyDeleteAlthough we are at the beach the water temp and the ferocious ocean make it impossible to swim. It would be great to miss winter but I think we will bring the August winds with us. Not long now and you will have your boys home. It sounds like Paul has the riding/holiday bug. Perhaps you need to start training.
