After breakfast we went to Ovar to visit the markets. There is both fresh produce and clothing, manchester, shoes etc....
Ed bought some veges. Teresa bought some fish and meat for dinner and I bought some flowers.
We head home in time for lunch. Chicken, pork, rice and salad and wine from Ed's Grandfather. Some fruit for dessert - melon and plums.
After lunch we decide to go exploring near the river and walk off some of our lunch.
The kids and Ed ride bikes and Teresa, Ana and I walk. It is lovely looking at the peaceful river. It would be great to be a child here growing up. There is so much going on around the river. We watched women catching worms to sell to fishermen. Families were picnicking and lots of people were fishing.
Ed was reminiscing about his childhood and questioning his mum and sister about changes in the geography.
View from the top of the bridge.
We walked along the path that follows the river.
When we get home drinks and snacks - nuts, chips, proscuito, lupin beans (tremocos) and cake. Ana made a cake typical of the area called Pao de Lo.
The kids watched some tv - movies were in english today.
Time for dinner. ( A bit of a pattern is forming - eating, eating and more eating). We ate some fish that were a bit like sardines, salad and cake for dessert.
We are watching soccer here Netherlands vs Costa Rica. The family is divided about who should win. Last night we were all barracking for Brazil.
