First day in Torreira

We all sleep in! Yeah!
Breakfast is a leisurely event with lotsf conversation about family and friends. Home made jams and toast was consumed quickly.
The kids headed outside to check out the animals - chickens and rabbits.

No pig he went to God just before we got here. James and Gale would say dispatched. 100 kgs -a big pig! Mitchell has found Edward’s gun. I am happy it needs to be cleaned up properly so it is not working at the moment. There are lots of fresh vegies in the garden. Ed and the kids have already been grazing on strawberries and peaches as they check out the backyard.

Ed wanted to check out the beach at Torreira. The weather is nice so we stroll on the sand. They were fishing off the beach so we headed down for a look. They use traditional fishing boats from the area but tractors to bring in the nets(it use to be bulls ).

Two hours later we head home for lunch. Confit pork, beans and salad - delicious! I enjoyed a little siesta and woke when Ana came home from work. We head to some shops in Ovar for some supplies and new phone cards. Easier to buy cards here. In Spain and Singapore they wanted to see our passports.

Next off to Furadouro to check out how the beach was affected by king tides earlier in the year - most of it was washed away. There is only a small patch of sand left. It is sad to see most of it gone.
There is a tourist informstion centre with an exhibition of local handicrafts so Ana, Sabrina and I checked out the exhibition whilst Ed and Mitch enquired about bikes.
We head home for a lovely dinner - chicken, rice, salad and a very nice birthday cake for Edward.

We will be quite a few kilos heavier on our return. We will need to keep walking.
