We met Pedro and he and Ed went to pick up keys for Manuel and Fatima's unit. Joaquim, Teresa, the kids and I had a drink.
We dropped off our bags and headed for Pedro's parents house. Jose and Maria took us for lunch with Sara, Joanna and Filipe. We went to a restaurant where we had gone previously with Armindo and Stella.
It has a help yourself salad section and you order your meal. We ate grilled meat and veal with a mushroom sauce. It was all lovely.
After lunch we went to a museum of olive oil. Pedro once worked there. We had a tour that was both interesting and informative.
Maria wanted us to come for dinner but we do not want to where out our welcome. Sara is sick and needs to rest which is impossible when entertaining guests. We will see them when we come back.
We decide to visit some caves at a town called Mira de Aire. We watched a short film in Portugese and then took a tour of the cave. There are hundreds of steps, my thighs were like jelly afterwards. Joaquim and Teresa did an amazing job of keeping up with everyone. There is a river underground that supplies Lisbon and the surrounding areas with water.
When you get to the end of the tour the water makes such a loud noise that it is difficult to hear others talking.
The kids wanted a swim so we moved a little down the hill to the lical piscina. We had a cool beverage whilst Mitchell and Sabrina made the most of the pool and slides.

Looks amazing! Glad you are all enjoying eachother! Love and miss you Vicki xo
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see Ed so relaxed, it's a shame we can't stay in 'vacation mode' all the time but wouldn't it be nice!
ReplyDeleteThat dress looks good on you too Kyls - very flattering and the cool colours really suit you! The caves look very similar to Jenolan but dare I say Jenolan's more spectacular??
Lock and Paul depart in approx 10hrs time. 6 weeks has gone pretty fast! I miss them heaps but not desperately, shame they can't stay longer - G and I have had a very nice time together and we'll miss the 'calm' once they're back, however, I think I'd rather have it noisy and boisterous!
At least I'll only have one blog to lament over now :)
BTW, saw Pat Finnerty at P/T NIght tonight, he asked how you were and your crazy hair?????
