Torreira via Fatima

We left Lisbon after a sleep in. We decided to see if we could see Stella and Armindo Tomas. Stella was not home when we arrived so we headed for the Sanctuary. We bought some candles and said some prayers.

We headed back to the roundabout and Stella was still not home. We decided to have some lunch and try again after lunch. The kids felt like Chinese much to Edwards horror. The food at the restaurant is good!

We started walking towards Stella's apartment and who should we run into but Stella heading to the cafe. We had coffee with her and Joanina and caught up on all of their news. We then went and spent a bit of time with Mr Tomas. It was great seeing them looking so well.

We headed for home and arrived to a lovely fire and cooked meal Arhhhh!

  1. Go the Chinese!
How was the Fatima shrine this time, without the people?
It sounds like Stella not being home was an excuse to eat.
    Drive safely.

  2. Chinese in Portugal!
Lachlan wanted Chinese when we were in Austria - kids get a hankering for the familiar at times don’t they?
    Theresa is looking good!!

  3. As much as we love Portugese food we enjoy variety! The shrine had a fair few people attending mass but the streets of Fatima are bare - a bit surreal.
    Paul any excuse to eat!

  4. I love Fatima but it can be very crowded when festivals are on. The day I was there in 2016 not many people and I found the underground Chapel/ Church great fro some quiet prayer and me think time.
