Sunday in Barcelona

We set off at 8.30 in order to attend church at Barcelona Cathedral. Although in Catalan and difficult to undersrand except for Ed and Ana, we followed along and enjoyed the service. The guy who lead the singing had an amazing voice. It was worth going just to hear hom sing. The church itself is very impressive. Massive flying buttresses and beautiful stained glass. The cloisters were paricularly nice and had 13 white geese there to reresent the age Saint Eulalia was when she was killed for refusing to dismiss Jesus as the son of God.
After church we explored some of the Barri Gotic window shopping and having a coffee.

Headed home to change and back out to Parc Guell.
Enjoyed the parc but did not go into monuments area (would have been a two hour wait and Ana needed to get to the airport). After a lovely look arund we headed for home. Lunch at a restaurant called La Rita which was very nice.

After lunch we walked Ana to the airport bus. Goodbye but will see her in a week and a half.

We walked to the El Raval area and then back to Barri Gotic. I enjoyed some of the interesting stores. There was an amazing   jewellery shop with some unusual stuff. I liked a chair made from toy guinea pigs - cool!
Had a rest then set off with hoardes of other tourists to watch the Magic Fountain light show.

Signing out until tomorrow. Kylie

  3. That dress looks really good on you Kylie! Love it!
Mitch - you are one swaggy dude and Brina - what's with the 'face' at the fountain?? Sick of all the photos already?? Don't worry Ed, you're the best at documenting family holidays, I'm sure Brina will thank you one day! Hope you had a good time with Ana? Enjoy!

  5. Thanks Kristy! The dress is from Singapore. We enjoyed seeing Ana and look forward to seeing family in Portugal. Ed’s grandfather is unwell so we will be off again once arriving.
Mitchell thinks he is even more gorgeous today as he has a Barcelona football outfit.
The fountains were lovely but we were exhausted. We were sharing the fountain with thousands of others. Brina was not impressed!

  7. Michael we are enjoying it. Sabrina thinks we are trying to knock her off. She is over walking. We are on a bus tour today, so kids can rest their weary legs. I don’t think they should complain given how Lachlan and Paul’s legs must be. I hope the blogs spur you on to organise your trip.
Happy to holiday with you anytime.
    Lots of love Kylie xoxoxo
