Montjuic and Barceloneta

USet off this morning for brekky at Boqueria Market - coffee, pastries and tortilla - yum!
Sabrina - "Now I know where to come for a chocolate milk. Barcelona has the best lollies and marshmellows too!"

Caught a train from Liceu to Parallel and a funicular to Montjuic. Headed to the top via a cable car. The view was fantastic. Barcelona is huge! We wandered around near the castle taking the scenery in. It was very hot so we decided to head back down and have something to drink before heading back to the apartment for lunch. We ended up near an old bull ring that had been turned into a shopping centre. Lingered for a while here the view from the top was great and it had some interesting stores.

Back to the train, we headed for home - lunch and a siesta. The afternoon we hit the beach. The water was a nice temperature and we all enjoyed a dip at Barceloneta Beach. It is the most crowded beach I have ever visited. Hardly sny people were swimming so that was the place to be.

We walked up the main promenade to the Gehry sculpture and then headed for home.

Dinner was at a restaurant called Citrus and it was lovely.

Then we headed back home via the the upper section of Passeig de Gracia.

  2. We are enjoying our holiday immensely. Ana has just left us. She enjoyed her time in Spain. I will pass on your message. Mum told me your Mum’s send off was beautiful. We have been praying and lighting candles for you, Sally and my family everywhere. I am better with electronic candles as I am a bit dangerous lighting real ones. Take care of yourself and Sally. We love you and miss you.
