The apartment is as advertised but Wi Fi is terrible.
Went for a walk and got a little lost. Thank god Ed has a great sense of direction behind the wheel of a car as he is terrible on foot. Getting lost we found a great market and the churros place we want to go to.
We are staying in the La latina area. It is close to two stations and Plaza Mayor. Lots of restaurants and shops but you need to go to the butcher for meat, the fruit and vege shop for produce and another store for other supplies - much like shopping back in Australia years ago.
Lunch was in a cafe. Calamari sandwiches and a sausage sandwich for Ed.
Cooking a steak and veges for dinner as we are tired. We will be exploring more tomorrow.

Hi Guys,
ReplyDeleteSo glad your travels are running smoothly so far. I would have loved to have seen Madrid. I've heard it's quite different to Barcelona? Looking forward to your next report :)
Kristy xx
It is very big and easy to wander off track. Barcelona was very easy to navigate and geared well for tourists. Most people spoke english. Madrid is a bustling city. There are touristy parts but Ed is more at home here and is utilising his Spanish. The metro is needed here. Sabrina is struggling with being on the go all day and into the night. We are having to make more use of the apartment. Cannot fit everything into such a short period. Will have to return.
ReplyDeletekylie the cake shop looks pretty good i could have a cake right now.Hope you are all having fun and enjoing Madrid. Time is flying soon you will be in Portugal. love to all.ana
