Today we decided to drive via the coast up to the mouth of the river for Porto.
We drive past the NATO Airbase and we see a Hercules take off. The bike track beyond Furadouro looks okay - maybe next trip.
We stop off and look at the beach. All is calm and the water looks inviting. A pity it is so cold.
We stop for lunch at Cortegaca. We enjoy a pleasant lunch with all the family.

Family lunch
We leave with full bellies and head further north. We cross the train line a few times as we zigzag north.
There are walkways and bike paths from Espinho onwards. They look great.
We continued on to Gaia heads and go for a walk. It is overcast and great weather for walking.
The view is great.
We stop for a drink and the kids ride a trike.
Teresa needs to drop off something to Arminda's place and we say farewell. Ed won't go upstairs as he knows his aunt will want to feed him.
Until next time Adeus!
We head home and decide to go to a local medieval fair with Ana and Jorge.
There are lots of stalls selling goods and of course food. We wander looking at them and running into groups performing - drummers, actors and performers working with fire.
We stop for a drink and later some food. Ed and I shared a large crepe. It was delicious.
Roast pig. Notice that they have fitted a car stearing wheel to the end of the stainless steel rod to turn the roasting pig.
The place selling crepes.
Goodnight it is 2 o'clock in the morning.

G'Day Pereira's The zombies and dead in the court look a little real! Looks like Ed will have a new BBQ spit when he comes home. We will find the steering wheel. Keep enjoying the family.
ReplyDeleteIt has been wonderful following your journey guys and I'm starting to feel sad for you having to come home. What an opportunity and experience for Mitchell and Sabrina to not only see so many great sights but enjoy time with the grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins. Not doubt this trip will bring them even closer and will be skyping lots when they get home. Think chores and school work is going to be a bit of a struggle. Enjoy the last of your trip, not long to go now. Cheers, Ruth
ReplyDeleteThanks Ruth
ReplyDeleteI agree the kids will struggle. I know that I will.
See you soon.
